LET’S: Let Seniors Teach Sense of Initiative and Entrepreneurship Through innovative multimedia storytelling approachesGrundtvig, 2010 - 2012

The project encourages the entrepreneurship spirit of low skilled adults aged 50 and above through an innovative multimedia training course about sense of initiative and entrepreneurship. This includes àn e-book collecting the most successful training contents used all over the EU. A set of videos will be made, collecting the successful business stories, life experience and endeavour of 30 low-skilled senior entrepreneurs from 8 countries: Italy, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Finland, Switzerland and Turkey. The entrepreneurs featured in the film will serve as a source of inspiration for others, and will hopefully encourage many more to become successful senior entrepreneurs.

Project Tandem aims to establish connection between the two most vulnerable groups in Europe: young low-level educated and older migrant people. They are affected by a number of risks: unemployment, social exclusion and isolation, but at the same time they can be mutually beneficial in acquiring transferable skills to help them overcome these difficulties. The project will motivate young people to form tandem teams with older migrants, carry out interviews and learn more about their professional and life path. The interviews will follow the EUROPASS approach, which will help them understand the meaning of "transferable competences" how they can be acquired in a non-formal environment and assessed and validated for their future professional development. The internet-based library with stories and methodological materials will be useful for teachers, trainers and counsellors working with emigrants and low skilled young people.

WBS – Web Based Job Search Support is an international project of 6 countries aimed at creating a social website for persons looking for work and wanting to develop their careers. WBS’s website contains a wide range of self assessment exercises for those who want to find their career goal, information about the labour market, useful tips for job searching and career planning; an interactive space for discussions in which users can give advice to each other and exchange experience. The portal is moderated by a team of national career guidance counsellors who give advice to the users seeking employment.
YELL – Young Europeans Love LanguagesEACEA - KA2, 2008 - 2011

The aim of YELL is to raise the motivation of young people to learn foreign languages through offering an attractive and joyful learning environment outside formal education. A broad network of 10 European partners will collect and promote innovative practices of language learning concepts in combination with sporting, cultural and entertainment activities. A toolbox will be elaborated to enrich trainers’ and tutors’ language teaching concepts.
Joy&Learn – Festivals and Calendar of Lifelong Learning in Bulgaria

The project aims to promote the awareness of Bulgarian citizens about the benefits, opportunities and enjoyment of lifelong learning. The initiative is implemented includes festivals and a website– calendar of lifelong learning with up-date information about the various learning opportunities (language courses, sports activities, art classes, workshops, seminars, on-line courses, open days, discussions and conferences, outdoor activities) in 5 cities - Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse.
Project "New employment – key skills for employment"
National action plan for employment 2010
The main aim of the project is to increase the employment suitability of 1000 unemployed young people from 9 regions in Bulgaria through key skills training. They will undergo training for employment skills, adaptability towards the labor market in an economic crisis environment, attainment of entrepreneurship skills and vocational fulfillment at the labor market. The project will be implemented by BFE, the Centre for information and vocational guidance “Tiger Club” and TU "Podkrepa".

The initiative’s goal is to help immigrants adapt and find career paths through enhancing counseling services addressed for them. A Guide is produced for vocational counselors, trainers and other helping professionals in 10 European countries.
Pilgrimage – From Knowledge Transfer to Autonomous LearningEACEA – Grundtvig, 2008 - 2010

In this project a European wide consortium undertakes a "pilgrimage" in order to compile a ‘canon’ of autonomous learning for teachers and trainers in adult education. The canon will support teachers by providing a diverse number of good examples such as: prototypes of filmed didactical approaches in the You Tube style, web logs of teaching experiences, platform of discussions, guidelines, descriptions etc.

Learning to learn network for low skilled senior workers pertains a crucial issue: the educational challenge of an ageing workforce in a knowledge-based Europe through the development of Learning to learn attitude in low skilled senior workers. Partners from 5 countries will develop e-manual for trainers that will help raise the participation of senior employed and unemployed persons’ in lifelong learning.

BFE has teamed up with Sofia Municipality and the “Child and space” association to organize an Atelier Club "Career" at the "Hristo Botev" orphanage in Gorna Banya. The atelier aims to help the children to learn more about themselves, about the occupations, to understand what they want to do after they graduate, to acquire skills that will help them in their career and life. The various project workshops aim to support the deinstitutionalization and development of alternative services that support the transition of at risk youth leaving the specialized institutions towards independent life, successful integration and socialization.

The project establishes Career Clubs at school as an innovative instrument for linking secondary education and the labour market in Bulgaria. 3 pilot career clubs are launched to support school children career guidance services. The activities include Career Fairs, Carnival of Professions, special career classes, contents and quizzes, plain airs, researches of career interests.

The project goal was to raise the awareness of the Bulgarian students about the Erasmus placements. The initiative included an information campaign, traveling exhibition, website and manuals that promoted the benefits of the Erasmus program as an opportunity to gain experience and enhance one’s competitiveness.

BFE is supporting the USAID Competitiveness project in Macedonia to start a National Internship program that will help bring together education and labor market. BFE will is providing expertise in the introduction of the Global Career Development Facilitator credential in Macedonia. GCDF is a certification program for career counselors who help individuals take career decisions during the life span.

BFE promoted the internship programs in Bulgaria in 2005 through launching a virtual platform for offering traineeship openings. The program was aiming at bridging the gap between the education system and public sector employers. As part of the initiative, methodologies have been elaborated and training delivered for human resource managers, students and academic professors in order to help them plan and implement successfully internship programs.

In 2005 the Global Career Development Program (GCDF) was introduced in Bulgaria to help individuals fulfill their potential. Since then over 1000 career practitioners have been trained in Bulgaria and capacity has been build to provide career services in secondary education and academia. GCDF trainings are also delivered for human resource managers and public institutions.
